Having previously collaborated with Tom on branding projects for two Shrewsbury-based hospitality ventures – Blind Tiger and The Cats Pyjamas – he reached out to us once again, this time with an exciting new challenge: crafting the identity and packaging for a venture into canned, bottled, and kegged cocktails.

Our journey began with developing the Wild Cat brand identity, ensuring it captured the spirit of the product while setting the stage for seamless application across packaging. With retail shelves, hospitality spaces, and event venues in mind, we created designs that balanced boldness and sophistication, ready to make an impression in any setting.

From the outset, we knew Wild Cat needed to feel both fun and unforgettable. The brand’s ethos celebrated letting loose and indulging in life’s finer things – premium, handcrafted cocktails. To bring this to life visually, we explored several illustration styles before settling on a striking concept: a woman riding a wild tiger, depicted in a traditional tattoo and pin-up style. This dynamic image perfectly encapsulated the brand’s playful yet premium character. Collaborating with illustrator Ross Martin, we transformed this vision into a showstopping centerpiece for the packaging.

The rest of the brand identity was carefully constructed around this hero illustration. By combining minimalistic layouts with a curated selection of three to four typefaces, we achieved a vintage aesthetic that felt right at home in a contemporary market. Every detail was considered to ensure the design’s versatility and impact, whether on a can, bottle, or keg.

The result? A cohesive, eye-catching brand that not only stands out on the shelf but also resonates with those ready to savor the Wild Cat experience.
